In the 9th line, where is it implied that he’s in charge of the presentation? It seems to be “になってるんだ”, but I don’t really understand that part.
In the 10th line, what does いって in プレゼンっていって mean? Is it 言って but without the kanji? If it is, how exactly does it fit into the sentence and what is its purpose?
になってるんだ means “be supposed to”
“I’m supposed to make a presentation.”
XXXって言っても here means “Even though you want XXX, …”. It’s used when the speaker wants to tell the other that it’s not a good idea to XXX., or the speaker doesn’t think the other can do XXX.
Here, the speaker should’ve said プレゼンするっていっても…. The speaker means “Even though you intend to make a presentation… ( I don’t think you can do it on that condition.)
Doesn’t “になってるんだ” use the なる verb? Next time I see something like “になってるんだ” how do I know whether it’s talking about becoming something, or if it’s talking about how things are supposed to be?
I’m sorry, I don’t quite understand how って言っても means “even though you want [thing]” Is it that every time someone says って言っても they mean this, or does it mean this only in some cases? If it always means this, it will be easy to remember. But if it depends on the context, it will be quite difficult. Because I 言って means “say”.
Well, when you say “I’m supposed to …”, a verb follows it, doesn’t it?

When ..になる means “become..” it should be a noun or adjective are followed by なる in the same way they follow “become” in English.
Okay, how about “Even though you’re saying that…” or “Although you’re saying that…?” I’m not sure which is more equivalent.
Even though/Although you’re saying you’re supposed to make a presentation, do you think you can do that in your condition?
The idea is the speaker doesn’t think the other can do it, and try to convince it.
Does it make sense?
So does って言っても always means that, or just sometimes?
If the speaker indicates what the other just said, yes.
If the speaker indicates what they just said, it can mean “Having said that”.
Hm.. I think I kind of understand. I’ll try to keep that in mind.
