ちょっと聞いてよ。もうすぐハロウィンじゃん？うちの子仮装して幼稚園行きたいって言ってるんだけど，それがなんと「おむすびころりん」のおじいさんになりたいんだって。

Guess what? Halloween is coming up soon, right? My kid says she wants to dress up and go to the kindergarten, but she actually wants to be the old man from "Omusubi Kororin" (a Japanese story about an old man and his rolling rice ball).

最近ね，「おむすびころりん」とか日本の昔話をよく読んであげてる影響だろうね。おじいさんはねずみさんにおにぎりをあげて優しいからだって。

Recently, I've been reading her a lot of "Omusubi Kororin" and other Japanese folk stories. I think it's from that. She says it's because the old man is kind giving mice his rice balls.
