Could someone please explain to me abit further the “るんだよ” in the first example “本読んでるんだよ” or point me towards an article explaining it? Thanks

読む → read
読んでいる → reading
読んでる → shortcut for 読んでいる
のだ → a clause-ending particle that’s used to sort of give an explanation
んだ → shorthand for のだ
よ → like an exclamation mark or used when introducing new info
You could easily search this stuff on google.

Thanks for your explanation,
It was the のだ being shortened to んだ which was proving difficult to search up.

ている Meaning: the progressive tense of a verb which shows that something is currently happening or ongoing.

How to form
Verb (て form)+いる
e.g.本を読んでいる=I am reading a book.

んだ・のだ Meaning: to explain something; show emphasis.

The functions of よ are:
to make someone become aware of something
to change the listeners’ thoughts or understanding
to express your acceptance or permission
to emphasise a sentence.

The functions of よ are:
>to make someone become aware of something
今日は雨ですよ。
(=It will rain today.)

>to change the listeners’ thoughts or understand
インドのカレーは、からくないよ。
(=Indian curry is not spicy.)

>to express your acceptance or permission
いいよ。
(=Okay.)

>to emphasise a sentence.
英語わかるよ。
PS5 持ってるよ。

In the sentence, it is used to emphasise a sentence.

Hope this helps!
