I was wondering if I can be provided with some examples on 同じ being use in sentences and when I’m able to use it.
Thank you for the response.
It depends on the context, but 同じ basically means “same,” “equal,” “identical” or “equivalent.”
So you can use the word when you mean them, such as 同じ人 (the same person) or 同じ方角(the same direction).
If you need more explanation, could you tell us where that question comes from?
I think I asked you to provide a sentence or a context when you ask questions that are not in the lesson so that we can understand what information you exactly need. If a question is vague, you get a vague answer.
I just wanted to know how to use 同じ in sentences. I guess if I wanted to say stuff like “We’re the same.”, “I like the same thing”, or like if I was going to say to someone that “This application runs on the same engine” like for graphic design.
Sorry about taking awhile to answer this, because I struggle with communication.
Ah, okay.
So 同じ is an adjective.
When it works as a complement, it usually comes to the end of a sentence.
When it modifies a noun, it can be put before the noun.
私たちは同じです。- We’re the same.
同じ物が好きです。- I like the same thing.
このアプリケーションは同じエンジンで動作します。
– This application runs on the same engine.
私と弟の身長は同じぐらいです。- My brother and I are about the same height.
今日は昨日と同じ物を食べました。- Today I ate the same thing as yesterday.
Does it answer your question?
