Situation

Two young women (currently in their 20s) who have been friends since middle school are talking.

サチコ：この前図書館で借りて読んだ小説、すごく面白かったよ。

(お)風呂 (お)ふろ bath; bathing; bathtub; bathroom

ヨシエ：サチコお風呂とか温泉好きだもんね。

ヨシエ：サチコお風呂(ふろ)とか温泉(おんせん)好(す)きだもんね。

Yoshie: You love baths and hot springs after all, Sachiko.

温泉 おんせん hot spring; hot spring resort
もん colloquial form of もの; indicates reason or excuse

サチコ：さらに好きになったよ。でも、お風呂が好きな人だけにおすすめってことじゃなくて、読みやすいし、物語としても面白いよ。ヨシエも読んでみてね。

Sachiko: I have come to love them even more. But this novel is not just recommended for bath lovers, it is easy to read and as a story it is interesting too. Yoshie, you should try reading it as well.

Yoshie: There was the time you sent me something resembling a novel in an email once.

Sachiko: You remember? How embarrassing! Forget it!

Yoshie: I'm pretty sure it was a crime story, right? Like, who's the criminal?

サチコ：結構覚えてるし。忘れてよ。あれ、中学1年生の時だよ。

Sachiko: You remember a lot. Forget it. That was when I was a first year in middle school.

中学 ちゅうがく abbreviated form of 中学校(ちゅうがっこう); junior high

ヨシエ：それなりに面白かったよ。

ヨシエ：それなりに面白(おもしろ)かったよ。

Yoshie: It was interesting in its own way.

それなり in itself, as it is, in its own way; within its capacity, within limitations

サチコ：いやいや、気を使わないでいいから。あの時はさ、ちょっとは自信あったんだよ。

Sachiko: It's fine, it's fine. You don't have to be considerate. Back then I had some confidence.

Sachiko: That's right. It was Tama-chan. Tamada sensei.

ヨシエ：何て言われたの？

Yoshie: What were you told?

サチコ：何て言われたっけ。そんなに厳しいことは言われなかったと思う。良かったとも言われてないと思うけど。

Sachiko: Hmm, what WAS I told? I don't think I was told anything too harsh. But I also don't think I was told it was good. 

ヨシエ：先生も困っただろうね。

ヨシエ：先生(せんせい)も困(こま)っただろうね。

Yoshie: Sensei must also have been troubled.

サチコ：言うねー。うん。困っただろうね。

サチコ：言(い)うねー。うん。困(こま)っただろうね。

Sachiko: You said it. Yeah. She must have been troubled.

言うね いうね expression indicating that someone made a strong, bold statement
