Situation

In the office parking lot at night, Mr. Yamada, a higher-up, and Mr. Tanaka, his subordinate, are speaking.

山田: お、田中くん。今、帰るの？

山田(やまだ): お、田中(たなか)くん。今(いま)、帰(かえ)るの？

Yamada: Oh, Mr. Tanaka. Are you going home now?

田中: あ、山田さん。おつかれさまです。

田中(たなか): あ、山田(やまだ)さん。おつかれさまです。

Tanaka: Ah, Mr. Yamada. Thank you for your hard work.

おつかれさま(です) good job; expression used to thank someone for hard work; often used as a greeting ("hi", "hello")

山田: おつかれさま。いい車に乗ってるね。

山田(やまだ): おつかれさま。いい車(くるま)に乗(の)ってるね。

Yamada: Good work today. That's a nice car you're driving.

田中: あ、はい。ありがとうございます。

田中(たなか): あ、はい。ありがとうございます。

Tanaka: Ah, yes. Thank you.

山田: 車、好き？

山田(やまだ): 車(くるま)、好(す)き？

Yamada: Do you like cars?

田中: はい、結構好きです。

田中(たなか): はい、結構(けっこう)好(す)きです。

Tanaka: Yes, quite a lot.

山田: …だよな。分かるよ。

山田(やまだ): …だよな。分(わ)かるよ。

Yamada: Right? I get it.

田中: え？山田さんも？車？

田中(たなか): え？山田(やまだ)さんも？車(くるま)？

Tanaka: Oh? You too, Mr. Yamada? You like cars?

山田: うん。好きなんだよ、車。

山田(やまだ): うん。好(す)きなんだよ、車(くるま)。

Yamada: Yes. I do like cars.

田中: おー、嬉しいですねー。まわりにいないんですよ。車が好きな友達。

Tanaka: Oh, that makes me happy. There's not many around me. I don't have many friends who like cars.

Yamada: Oh, is that so.

田中: はい、もう、全然。

Tanaka: Yes, not at all.

山田: まあ、なかなか、いないかもしれないな。

山田(やまだ): まあ、なかなか、いないかもしれないな。

Yamada: Well, that generally tends to be the case.

田中: そうなんですよねー。

田中(たなか): そうなんですよねー。

Tanaka: That's just how it is.

山田: うーん。今度、店に来る？

山田(やまだ): うーん。今度(こんど)、店(みせ)に来(く)る？

Yamada: Hmm. Do you want to come to the store next time?

田中: え？店って…なんの店ですか？

Tanaka:  Huh? Store... what store?

山田: ああ、普通のバーなんだけど、オーナーが面白いんだ。

山田(やまだ): ああ、普通(ふつう)のバーなんだけど、オーナーが面白(おもしろ)いんだ。

Yamada: Ah, it's your average bar, but the owner is an interesting guy.

田中(たなか): オーナーが面白(おもしろ)い？

Tanaka: The owner is interesting?

山田: 車が好きなんだ。

Yamada: He loves cars.

田中: へー、いいですね。

田中(たなか): へー、いいですね。

Tanaka: Wow, that sounds great.

山田: いろんな人に会えるよ。

山田(やまだ): いろんな人(ひと)に会(あ)えるよ。

Yamada: You can meet many kinds of people there.

会う あう to meet; to see

田中: 車が好きな人？

田中(たなか): 車(くるま)が好(す)きな人(ひと)？

Tanaka: People who like cars?

山田: もちろん。

山田(やまだ): もちろん。

Yamada: Of course.

田中: わー、行きたいです。でも…俺、行ったことないんですよ。バーって。

田中(たなか): わー、行(い)きたいです。でも…俺(おれ)、行(い)ったことないんですよ。バーって。

Tanaka: Wow, I'd like to go. But I... have never been before. To a bar.

俺 おれ I, me (used by male speakers)
こと(が)ある to have experience of… (after the past tense); there are times when…, sometimes (after the present tense)
e.g. そこに行(い)ったことがある = I have been there; そこに行(い)くことがある = I sometimes go there

山田: それで？

山田(やまだ): それで？

Yamada: Yeah, and?

田中: 高いですよね？

田中(たなか): 高(たか)いですよね？

Tanaka: It'll be expensive, right?

山田: いや、高くないよ。普通。

山田(やまだ): いや、高(たか)くないよ。普通(ふつう)。

Yamada: No, it's not expensive. Pretty average.

田中: そうですか。

田中(たなか): そうですか。

Tanaka: Is that right.

山田: 若い人もたくさん来る、よくある店だよ。

山田(やまだ): 若(わか)い人(ひと)もたくさん来(く)る、よくある店(みせ)だよ。

Yamada: It's a typical place that many young people also come to.

山田(やまだ): うん。いろんな、車(くるま)が好(す)きな人(ひと)たち。

Yamada: Yeah. Different kinds of people who like cars.

田中: すごいですね。

田中(たなか): すごいですね。

Tanaka: That's amazing.

山田: 車の事をいろいろ話して…。

山田(やまだ): 車(くるま)の事(こと)をいろいろ話(はな)して…。

Yamada: You can talk about various things about cars...

田中: はい！

田中(たなか): はい！

Tanaka: Yes!

山田: 新しい友達ができるかもしれない。

山田(やまだ): 新(あたら)しい友達(ともだち)ができるかもしれない。

Yamada: And maybe make new friends.

Tanaka: Yes!

山田: そうだな。明日は、どう？

Yamada: Right. So how about tomorrow?

Tanaka: That would be great.

山田: じゃあ、明日。仕事の後。

Yamada: Well then, tomorrow. After work.

田中: はい。ありがとうございます。

田中(たなか): はい。ありがとうございます。

Tanaka: Yes. Thank you very much.
