A conversation between two female friends.
りえ：ひとみ、この映画興味ある？
りえ：ひとみ、この映画(えいが)興味(きょうみ)ある？
Rie: Hitomi, are you interested in this movie?

Rie: This is the title, and I've heard it's interesting.

Hitomi: Ah! I also wanted to see that one.
りえ：ひとみこういう映画、興味あると思った。

Rie: I thought that you would like this kind of movie.

Hitomi: Yup. It's a movie about a famous family, right? I do enjoy those types.

Rie: I'll check out the movie schedule. And how about we have some lunch before the movie? There's this famous place, I bet it would be tasty.

A conversation between two housewives.
主婦A：聞いてよ！うちの子、魚料理、食べないんだよ。

Housewife A: Would you believe this! My children won't eat their fish.

主婦B：うちの子も一緒だよー。

Housewife B: Mine's the same.
主婦A：ほとんど残すし。で、食べさせるのが大変。

Housewife A: Most of it is just left on the plate. And then trying to make them eat it is quite the ordeal.
主婦B: そうそう。おいしくないって言うよね。
主婦(しゅふ)Ｂ: そうそう。おいしくないって言(い)うよね。
Housewife B: Tell me about it. They just end up saying that it doesn't taste good.
主婦A：魚ってさ、健康にすごくいいよね？
主婦(しゅふ)A：魚(さかな)ってさ、健康(けんこう)にすごくいいよね？
Housewife A: Fish are really good for your health, aren't they?

Housewife B: That's right. It's good for one's health to eat lots of them.

主婦A：でもさ、なんかさ、健康の話って子供には難しくない？

Housewife A: But, isn't talking about health a little bit too difficult for children?

Housewife B: Certainly.

Housewife A: Preparing meals in a way that a child would like is also difficult.
主婦B：でもさ、私も昔は魚は好きじゃなかったよ。

Housewife B: But, you know I didn't like fish when I was a child either.
主婦A：え、ほんと？じゃあ、いつ好きになったの？

Housewife A: Huh, really? Well, when did you start to like it?
主婦B：うーん。いつかなー。だんだん変わったかな。母が毎日食べさせるから。

Housewife B: Hmm. When was it? Maybe I just gradually changed how I felt. My mother made me eat them every day after all.

主婦A：じゃあ頑張って食べさせてみる。そしたら好きになるかな？

Housewife A: Well then, I'll try my best to make them eat it. And then maybe they'll grow to like it perhaps?
