Step 2 - Take the Quiz
Let's see how many words you remember.
Take the quiz here.
Step 3 - Writing Exercises (Optional)
Let's practice what you learned here.
In Situation 1, they said “ใใใชใใงใใญ”. What’s the difference between saying that and “ใชใใปใฉ” in this situation?
ใใใชใใงใใญใmeans “Oh, is that so?” It’s often used when the information is new or unexpected to the speaker.
ใชใใปใฉ means “I got it.”, “That makes sense.” or “That explains.”
So, it would sound really weird if ไฝ่ค said ใชใใปใฉ in this situation.
Thank you. I think the translation should be changed to “Oh, is that so?” rather than “I see.” then.
No problem.
I have suggested several times that they should translate the nuances in a way that makes the differences clear, but the people in charge prefer translating generally.
On many occasions, ใใใชใใงใใญ can be translated as “I see.” And it can be applied here.
Could you explain ๆใ please? I always seen it defined as feeling but It’s kind of hard for me to understand it that way. Thanks!
In this case, it means you have a good “impression” of it.
Thank you Hana sensei! How about in a more broad sense? Like a definition that is applicable to multiple scenarios?
Its core meaning is probably closer to “vibes” or “atmosphere.”
Think about music, arts, fashion, or something you like without any particular reason. You could explain why you like it if you try, but it’s often beyond logical explanation: You catch/sense something that moves your feelings. That’s the one.
Thank you hana-sensei! That’s a really good explaination ๐
No problem. Happy to help. ๐

How do we know that ้ดๆจใใ is “you” in
Coudn’t ้ดๆจใใ just as well be the Suzuki’s father or mother?
Because ไฝ่คใใ is talking to ้ดๆจใใ. It’s a conversation between them.
“I thought you bought it for yourself.”
ไฝ่คใใ could’ve said ใใชใใ่ฒทใฃใใฎใใจๆใใพใใ, but it sounds more friendly and polite to call them by their name.
If ไฝ่คใใ means Suzuki’s father or mother, he would’ve said ้ดๆจใใใฎใ็ถใใ or ้ดๆจใใใฎใๆฏใใ.
