What function does から serve here? いえ、先にここで撮ってからパスポート作りに行くみたいですよ。
先に means before, and the translation doesn’t say “from here” so why is から there?

Also, in 逆でも写真があればいいですよ。じゃあ、撮りますね. What does あれば mean? I may be missing something because of that, but, wouldn’t it translate better to “You still need a (your) photo, even if you’re the opposite of everyone. Okay, let’s take one.” rather than “All you need is your photo, even if you’re the opposite of everyone. Okay, let’s take one.”? As the latter sounds off.

から here works as “once…” or “after…”
                          先に here means “first”

                          先にここで撮ってからパスポート作りに行くみたいですよ。means
They seem to go to apply for a passport after they have their photo taken here first.

写真があればいいですよ。literally means “It’s okay as long as there is a photo.”
So the clerk is saying it doesn’t matter if she did the opposite of what most people do. She can apply for her passport if she has her photo.

あれば is a conditional form of ある (exists, be available): if there is…, as long as there is…

Ah that makes sense, it’s just one of those sentence order things that was making it hard for me to wrap my head around since it reads the exact opposite of what it would be in English. Since the after part is referring to the sentence before rather than what comes next. But I think I understand it now.

I thought he was saying “Even if you’re the opposite” you still need a photo (as in your photo taken for the passport)” as in he was being snarky. Guess I didn’t really get the intent.

                          ありがとうございます。

Yes, sentence constructions between English and Japanese are very different, particularly when conjunctions such as “when” or “while” is used. That makes us Japanese people confused when we learn English, too.

The way they speak is a bit too complicated, so don’t worry about it too much. Usually, people talk in a simpler way in this kind of situation in real life. I guess it’s a good practice for learning, though.

                          どういたしまして。 🙂

Is って in the sentence「映画見るって出てたよ」 the particle for introducing something? Or is it similar to って in っていう or って聞く? Also, why is 見る in dictionary form in this sentence?

                          In this context,
                          って means
                          ..said;
He said that he is going to watch a movie.

In casual reported speech, we use って instead of と.
                          e.g.
                          先生が手伝ってほしいと言っています。
= Teacher is saying she needs your help.
                          ↓
                          先生が手伝ってほしいって言ってるよ。
= Teacher is saying she needs your help.

                          Hope it helps!

                          「ハル:すみません。写真、撮ってほしいんですが。」
                          ーーーーーーーーーーーー
is there any difference if i use 撮りたい instead of 撮ってほしい?
                          something like 「すみません。写真、撮りたいですが。」 ?

                          写真、撮りたいんですがcan be used when
you want to take a photo of the person or something the person is in charge.

For example, when you visit a temple in Japan, you can ask the staff, “May I take a photo of the temple?”(写真撮りたいんですが、よろしいですか。)

撮ってほしんですが is used when you want somebody to take a photo of you.
