田村(たむら)：ちょっと難(むずか)しい所(ところ)があって、教(おし)えてほしいんですが。。。

• 難むずかしい difficult; hard
• ほしい to want; to desire

佐藤(さとう)：どこ？

田村(たむら)：この最後(さいご)の説明(せつめい)が、全然(ぜんぜん)わからないんです。

• 最後さいご last; end
• 説明せつめい explanation; 説明せつめいする to explain

佐藤(さとう)：これか。俺(おれ)も同(おな)じ経験(けいけん)したよ。

田村(たむら)：どうしたらいいですか？

• ～たら if, when, after: 終おわったら行いく。I'll go when I finish; why don't you...?: 勉強べんきょうしたら？Why don't you study? (We use たら to say, "if something happens, something else will happen".)

佐藤(さとう)：説明(せつめい)するの難(むずか)しいから、俺(おれ)も一緒(いっしょ)にやるよ。

田村(たむら)：本当(ほんとう)ですか？ありがとうございます！

佐藤(さとう)：うん、でも、今日(きょう)は帰(かえ)ろう。明日(あした)頑張(がんば)ろう。

• 明日あした tomorrow
• 頑張がんばる to do one's best: 仕事しごとがんばる！I'll do my best at work; expression to encourage someone: 勉強べんきょう頑張がんばって！Good luck with your study.

田村(たむら)：はい！じゃあ、明日(あした)頑張(がんば)ります！

佐藤(さとう)：うん、おつかれさま。

• おつかれさまです、おつかれさまでした、おつかれさま good job; expression used to thank someone for hard work; often used as a greeting ("hi", "hello")

田村(たむら)：おつかれさまでした！

Satoshi is speaking with his mother over the phone.

サトシ：どうかな。まだわからない。今(いま)は、いっぱいやることがあって大変(たいへん)かな。でも、だんだん楽(たの)しくなる気(き)がする。

• いっぱい 1) a cup of, a glass of; 2) the end of 3)be full of, a lot of (1 and 2 have the same pitch accents. 3 has a different pitch accent.)
• だんだん gradually, more and more, less and less; だんだん夏なつになるよ。It will be summer little by little.
• ～くなる to become: 赤あかくなる to become red; 読よまなくなる to stop reading
• 気きがする to have a certain mood or feeling; to have a hunch: 出来できない気きがする。I feel like I can't do it.

母(はは)：ご飯(はん)は食(た)べてる？

サトシ：うん、食(た)べてるよ。朝(あさ)ごはんも自分(じぶん)で作(つく)って食(た)べてるし。

母(はは)：この前(まえ)、テレビで、サトシの大学(だいがく)が出(で)てたね。みんなで見(み)たよ。

• 出(で)て(い)た progressive, past form of 出(で)る to be on  (出(で)る -> 出(で)て(い)る-> 出(で)て(い)た)

サトシ：あ、テレビに出(で)てたね。見(み)たんだ？

母(はは)：すごい学校(がっこう)に入(はい)れたんだね。

• 入(はい)れた past form of 入(はい)れる to be able to enter; ラーメン食(た)べれた。I was able to eat ramen.

サトシ：うん。でも、この先(さき)の方(ほう)が大事(だいじ)だから。

• 方ほう direction; way; side; 方ほう is also used to make a comparison: 日本にほんよりカナダの方ほうが大おおきい。Compared to Japan, Canada is bigger; 日本にほんのほうがいい。 Japan is better.
• 大事だいじ important, serious; 大事だいじにする to take good care of, to cherish, to treasure

母(はは)：そうだね。まあ、でも、いっぱい楽(たの)しむことも大事(だいじ)なことだと思(おも)うよ。

• 楽たのしむ to enjoy; to have a good time

サトシ：そうだね。

母(はは)：体(からだ)は大切(たいせつ)にしてね。

• 大切たいせつ important; 大切たいせつにする to take care of, to cherish, to treasure

サトシ：うん、ありがとう。また、電話(でんわ)するよ。

母(はは)：うん、じゃあまたね。

• じゃあまたね casual ways of saying "bye"
