In this phrase: “絶対できてないよ”, could you please explain this part: “できてない”? Could you just say “絶対できなかったよ”?

                              That’s a good question.
“できてない” here implies that he believes he must not have been able to answer the question properly, at least until he receives the test result. Once the result is out, he would say “できなかった.”

                              I don’t quite understand about の in “写真しゃしん撮とるの、難むずかしいんだよね。”, “そっか。ナオミ、写真しゃしん撮とるの好すきだったね。” and “あと、ずっと犬いぬと遊あそぶのもいいな。”

                              “写真しゃしん撮とるの、難むずかしいんだよね。
                              =写真とるのがむずかしいんだよね。=写真とることがむずかしいんだよね。
When you use verbs as nouns in English, you attach “to” or “-ing” with verbs. Japanese has a similar rule. If you place の or こと after verbs, it will become a noun.
The nominalisation occurs with just の.
                              Hope it helps!

Hello! How does ,”遊ぶ時は遊んで、また勉強しようよ” translate to “Let’s play when it’s time to play, and then study”? I kind of read it as “To play (time) [topic] to play, again lets study.”

Also for the line ,”本読んでる時とか” How does it translate to ,”Like when I am reading books”?

I think 時 is making it hard for me to understand. I understand it as “time/hour”. Could you also clarify the meaning of this word?

                              Thank you very much!

時 itself means “time” or “hour”.
xxxする時 (a verb + 時) means “when someone does something.”

                              ”遊ぶ時は遊んで、また勉強しようよ” basically means:
“Have fun when you can have fun, and then we can go back to study.”

                              本読んでる時とか、すごく楽しい means:
“I enjoy myself when I read books and stuff.”
