In situation 2, I am a bit confused about the phrase: “…いい点をとらないといけないんです!”. Is this just a phrase to mean “to score a good (grade)”? Or “to score well”? What does the verb “とる” have to do with scoring? I am just a bit confused about the conjugation. Thanks in advance.

In this context, とる means “ gain”, “ get” or “achieve”
いい点をとる=get a good mark or grade.
                          Hope it helps!

Situation 2, third line from the top, I don’t understand どこが in どこがテストに出でるのか忘わすれてしまって. There’s an explanation under the transcript but I don’t know how to apply it to どこが. When I first saw it I thought it meant どこ as in “Where.”

There might’ve been a temporary problem. They are working now.
