In Situation 2, 山田(やまだ) says “明日(あした)って、日曜(にちよう)ですよね？” which is fine. I understand that it’s common for native speakers to omit 日(び) when saying a day of the week. But then a couple of lines later, he says “日曜日(にちようび)も働(はたら)くんですか？” and does not omit 日(び). I’m guessing it’s perfectly okay for someone to be inconsistent and say the same word two different ways in the same conversation?
He emphasizes the Sunday to imply his surprise.
It’s like saying “Do you mean you work even on SUNDAY”?

this sentence can be translated as “yeah, because i studied super hard this time” as well cant it ?
instead of “Yeah! Because this time, I studied a lot”
???
The speaker is emphasising 今回(this time). That could be the reason.

Syntactically I think you’re right.
Or if you really wanna be strict about it, it could even be, “Yeah! This time I studied a lot, that’s why, right?”.

theirs=かれらの、彼らのもの、彼女たちの、彼女たちのもの、
It depends on the context, the meaning differs.

im super confused on this sentence how does it end up meaning ” Are you working so much to make ends meet?”
I cant see it at all normally i can see how it would but this one just doesnt seem like thats right ?
(edit) i see you changed in order to live 生活せいかつのためです into to make ends meet.
To make sure, are you still confused about the translation ” Are you working so much to make ends meet?” ? Do you think that ” make ends meet” is not the proper translation in this context?

yeah i do see what your saying mine and there’s is the same just worded differently, i guess we just think and make sentences different
