先生
In situation 1 :このピザ 買ったの? Can I confirm if the statement end with a raising tone mean it is question and therefore の here means confirmation of your observation.

An old Japanese song ends with :骨まで愛して ほしいのよ. What does the のよ here mean. Does it mean actually, desire actually?

With a rising intonation (in a question form), の can be used to softly express doubts and suspicions.

> An old Japanese song ends with :骨まで愛してほしいのよ.
ー I didn’t expect you brought up such an old song. lol

xxxのよ is a softened form of assertion.
If you say 骨まで愛してほしい (I want you to love me to the bone), it sounds demanding.
By adding のよ, it can add a feminine softness and cuteness, which makes the phrase less scary.

Got the idea?

分りました 先生.So basically 〜のat end of sentence is to soften it. If statement is also a question it soften and add doubts. ありがとうございます

どういたしまして。^ ^
Yes, you got it correctly. There are some other usages, which are rarely used.
So, at this stage, understanding this basic meaning is enough.

Hello,
I’m still confused about using です instead of ます form. What is the difference between saying 行くんです and 行きます?

Hello.

Here is the basic rule for using です and ます.
※ です follows a noun or an adjective.
 Examples:
僕は学生です。 – I am a student. ( 学生 – noun)
今日は暑いです。 – It’s hot today. (暑い – adjective)

※ ます follows a verb.
毎朝6時に起きています。- I get up at 6:00 every morning. (起きる – verb)

However, your question is not about です and ます. It’s about んです.

When xxxんです is used in a declarative sentence, it indicates the speaker explains a reason, a situation or a circumstance, or claims their opinion.

The professor explains the reason why he leaves the current university.
So, 別の大学に行くんです。 mean (I’m quitting here because) I’m going to another university.
※ I added に since saying 大学に sounds more natural and appropriate.

If he says 別の学校に行きます, he simply tells the fact that he’s going to another school (university).
