In situation 2 dialogue 2 audio, 学校 was pronounced as ‘なっこ’. Was it intended?

No, he says ‘がっこう,’ but the ‘が’ is just weakly pronounced.

Ahh I see….I just heard the ‘な’ sound instead so I was confused.

I can understand why you thought he said な, though.
His voice sounds nasal when he pronounces ‘が’.
It’s still ‘が,’ but you’ve got a good ear!

What’s the difference between the uses of し and から as a sentence ending particle?

Is it about し as in 美味しいし?
Here, it works as “also” or “in addition to that”.

Naoki says the restaurant is always crowded, not only because it is inexpensive, but also because the food is delicious.

から works as “because.” So if he says 美味しいから, it means “because the food is delicious.”

Hello, there’s an error when you hover the mouse on ‘いえ’ for lesson 4 (shows explanation for ‘いや ‘)

Thank you for your comment.
Actually, いや was there. It said いや (いやー、や、いえ).
We’ve changed their order to いえ (いや、いやー、や).

Hello, and thanks for this lesson.
My question is related to the ちょうど終わった所です. What is the difference between that phrase and ちょうど終おわりました? And also, what does mean in that context?

~た (present perfect) + ところ means a certain action or event has just finished. It often implies they are ready to do other things.
Example:
妻: 朝ご飯、できた? – Wife: Is breakfast ready?
夫: ちょうどできたところだよ。 – Husband: It’s just ready.
He implies they can eat now.

終わりました just tells the fact that something is over, or something has been finished.
We don’t really say ちょうど終わりました.
We’d say たった今、終わりました or もう終わりました.
However, some clerks might say ちょうど終わりました when their goods are sold out since just telling the fact sounds a bit blunt. By adding ちょうど, they can include a nuance of “Oh, it’s too bad you’ve just missed it.”
