I have noticed that when the male speakers pronounce any ‘go’ or ‘ga’ syllable, the g is barely audible….almost as if the ‘g’ sound is swallowed. It’s almost silent. Is this normal?

This is a type of pronunciation called a nasal sonant. While there are exceptions, when a ‘g’ sound appears in the middle of a word, it is often pronounced as a nasal ‘ng.’ This pronunciation sounds gentler and more elegant compared to the standard ‘ga, gi, gu, ge, go.’ However, it is rarely used by the general public and is typically adopted by announcers.
