In lesson 3, “いえ、使ってないです。使います?”
What is the different between 使ってすか and 使います?
Could i use 使ってすか instead of 使います for asking if she wanna use the pen?
Thanks
No, they have different meanings.
“使ってますか?” means “Are you using it now?” (See the translation)
It’s a question to check if someone is currently using something.
On the other hand, “使います?” is an offer or invitation, asking if the other person wants to use something.
The standard, more formal form is “使いますか?”, which means “Would you like to use it?” or “Do you want to use it?”
“使います?” just omits the “か”, making it sound more casual and informal than “使いますか?”.
One of the questions in the quiz is about the phrase ‘そのペンを使う’。Because the context is not obvious to me, I’m struggling to understand it. Depending upon the situation could it mean one of the following: “that pen, can I use it?”, or “that pen, do you want to use it?”, “that pen, do you use it?”, or something else?
Thanks.
そのペンを使う means you are going to use that pen.
This sentence is not intended to ask for permission.
Hi ! For this sentence
なんか食たべたいのある
なんか食たべたい could have been enough ? Or does it remove too much ?
They have different meanings:
なんか食べたいのある? → “Is there anything you want to eat?”
なんか食べたい? → “Do you want to eat something?”
Thanks for the explanation
No problem!
