Situation 4 I have just learnt that the て-form ‘呼んで’ – and ‘読んで’ are almost the same except for the pitch accent.
Am I correct to think ‘呼んで’ is accented low – high and ‘読んで’ is high-low?
No, the pitch pattern for 呼んで is high – low – low.
The first mora よ is high, and the second mora ん and the third mora で are low.
This creates a sharp drop after the first mora.
As for 読んで, its pitch pattern is low – high -low.
the first mora よ is low, the second mora ん is high, and the third mora で is low again.
This creates a peak in the middle of the word.
