In situazione 2: 私が作ったんだよ, and why not 私は作ったんだよ, ?
What is the difference between が and は in this situation?

私が作ったんだよ means “I’m the one who made it.”

私は作ったんだよ means “I made it. ( simple fact)

知らない vs 知りませんでした.
May I ask the difference between these two?
Thank you

The first is informal negative present tense, the second is formal negative past tense.

※知らない
Meaning: “I don’t know”
Tense: Present
Politeness level: Casual (plain form)

※知りませんでした
Meaning: “I didn’t know”
Tense: Past
Politeness level: Polite (formal form)

The polite present form of “知らない” is 知りません (I don’t know — polite).
So the full polite progression is:
知りません(present, polite)
知りませんでした(past, polite)

Also, 知りませんでした implies that the speaker learned something after the moment they didn’t know it.
