The video in situation 4 seems to not be working. It’s just not there for me

I have a question. In situation 4, there is a phrase ‘ごめん。俺おれ、友達ともだちと食たべる’ so how can I distinguish that its one friend or more than one.

友達 can mean either “a friend” or “friends.”
In a context like this, it usually means “a friend.”
If the speaker wants to make it clear they mean “friends,” they might mention how many people are coming.
If you’re not sure how many friends they mean, you can just ask them.

Thanks. Like in some phrases, there are some words which by reading them seems to be singular but in their translation they are more than one (in quantity). This makes me confuse. But anyways thanks for clarification
