In the first example, we have someone using the word “やっぱり” as a question. I could hear the inflection in the tone with the pitch accent rising that she was using it as a question and then when I looked at the written transcript it was confirmed with a question mark. I am pretty comfortable with the use of the word as a statement, i think this is the first time I have seen it used as a question. Can somebody give me more examples of how やっぱり is used as a question like above or what the speaker is trying to convey by using it as a question?
やっぱり？ means “I know, right?”, “Just like I thought, huh?” or “So it was true?”
